In 1977, Chitralekha opened its doors as a simple saree store in the heart of Bettiah, West Champaran. Founded on a foundation of dedication, perseverance, and a genuine love for fashion, the store quickly gained a reputation for personalised service and high-quality textiles.
Word of mouth spread, and before long, Chitralekha became the go-to destination for locals looking for stylish, well-crafted clothing. By 1993, growing demand led to our first expansion. In 2016, we introduced a dedicated kidswear range, and by 2018, Chitralekha had transformed into a full-family fashion destination.
In 2023, Ethnix by Chitralekha launched as a dedicated men's ethnic wear brand. The same year, we became a Kalyan Jewellers franchise partner. By 2024, we had opened Candere and Kalyan stores in both Surat and Darbhanga. In 2025, large-format Chitralekha Shopping Malls opened in Motihari and Muzaffarpur.
We remain family-run. That personal touch is something we will never trade away.
