Our Story

Born from a saree shop,
built on trust.

Chitralekha Group was founded in 1977 in Bettiah, West Champaran, Bihar, starting from a 300 sq. ft. saree shop. Over nearly five decades, the family-run business has grown into North Bihar's most trusted multi-brand retail group, with stores across Bettiah, Muzaffarpur, Motihari, Darbhanga and Surat.

Today the group operates Chitralekha Shopping Mall — a full-floor fashion destination carrying 30+ brands including Levi's, Peter England, Van Heusen, Manyavar and Siyaram's — alongside Ethnix by Chitralekha (men's ethnic wear), The Raymond Shop Bettiah (franchise), and two jewellery formats: Kalyan Jewellers and Candere by Kalyan.

Chitralekha was honoured with the Pride of Bihar 2021 award by Hindustan newspaper as the largest textile retailer and taxpayer in Champaran, and the Icon of North Bihar 2026 award at Hotel Maurya, Patna. The Bettiah flagship holds a 4.9-star rating from over 17,800 verified Google reviews — one of the highest-rated retail stores in Bihar.
